Big Bang Theory question?

First of all I have no idea at all about science, so this all may sound ignorant.

I love to watch shows on Astronomy and Physics. I recently saw a Michio Kaku show that questioned the Big Bang Theory... how could you create something out of "absolutely nothing"?

That got me thinking, what was before the Big BAng? Energy? How did the energy get there? Something had to be there before the Big Bang, but how did that "thing" get there

Update:

After watching that show the other day, Im starting to lean towards god. I often wonder if something created the laws of physics 14 billion years ago then said "alright, heres your Big Bang". HAHA

Update 2:

@deltafox, not to get in a theology debate, but, as I stated above, could god have created the universe 14 billion years ago?

The bible was written thousands of years ago by people who only knew what they knew. They werent scientists, they wrote down what they observed. If it was written today, they would write it based off of our knowledge today. .

Update 3:

@spartan, thats not really what I was asking. According to this show I watched, scientists are questioning it more and more because something had to be there at the beginning to create it all.

How did that something get there? EVen if it was a Big BOunce, there had to be a first Bounce.

imo, the big bang theory is wrong and the universe is actually static, eternal (i.e. there was no creation event!), and is quite possibly infinite. I reckon the redshifts of distant galaxies are not caused by expansion, but rather through light losing energy to dark matter in the intergalactic medium.

Those leaning toward religion will argue from a Biblical standpoint that God created it all. The Bible doesn't say how he did it (other than the various days mentioned in Genesis; creating the sky, heavens, water, etc.) I prefer to think that he spoke and it came to what we now know it to be. If someone were around to record it all (which I think that the Holy Spirit was) it might have sounded like a big 'Bang' but who knows? For this universe (and other universes) God had to stand (figure of speech) somewhere and create it all.

If we could reach the end of the universe, we might find God's house (heaven, for a lack of a better term) and see a bright place with angels and the Trinity and look back and see a large (perhaps circular) expanse of blackness dotted by stars and suns and planets. That's my theory.

I think because human-kind hasn't found the edges of the universe speaks to God's infinite power and character and love. For in all of that tremendous expanse, we are all unique to Him.

Here be dragons... You're off the map. You'll drive yourself insane asking those questions. Just take it as fact that something happened and matter exists.

The Big Bang theory is the best original solution we have available. It is based on the fact that energy has mass and mass generates gravity. Therefore a singularity is a physical, although difficult, possibility.

I buy off on a variation of the big bounce. That is where you have space. It collapses down to a singularity. However, it cannot maintain that level of extreme organization. That last tiny impact is the trigger. KaBoom!

My version has several smaller "bounces" spread through out the universe. Allowing the universe to expand, organize, and well be pretty.

Big Bang Theory allows us to ask what happened in the moments of time prior to it. Before BBT, the Static Theory was the mainstream view where infinite time and space existed.

The views that there are multiple universes out there and we happen to be in one that allows life is not illogical, or that there was an earlier universe that collapsed and bounced, or whatever, are interesting suppositions. But until concrete tests can be exhibited by any scientific hypothesis, it will remain speculative. God as creator is certainly appealing and it explains the extremely fine tuning question, and others, for our universe. But it also raises questions, too. This is not unexpected since faith fades away when facts produce knowledge that eliminates the need to trust.

Further, it seems to me unlikely that the Genesis account makes any attempt to address the Big Bang, but does present an interesting case for observations of the formation of our Sun and planet, along with life forms as they evolved. But, this too, is not science but simply interpretation that comes from scientific enlightenment. Regardless, it isn't going to get addressed much in this forum, and rightfully so.

it could very well have been god that set the big bang in motion. or it could have been a snail, or nothing at all. we cannot really know what happened before the big bang it is like the inside of a black hole we could theorize but we can never see what is in there (i guess with a black hole we could just jump in, still we wouldn't be able to tell anyone unless they jumped in to and that would be rather useless).

the big bang theory is being questioned but no one said it was perfect, inflation is a good idea but there is no mechanism for the inflation.

basically the answer is out of our perception, except for an absolutely amazing mathematical model of the big bang, we will never truly know what happened before. so pick the one you like and go with it.

  • Well i am a christian and as suh i believe that god create the world so there was no "big bang" and the odds of a random evolution to create us as we are today in such diversity and complexity is just absurd. Even nature is so complicated. And the chances of this randomly happening for no reason is slim to none because if it was random we would have unneccesary body parts or nature would have something it didnt need but every single thing in nature and us has a purpose and a reason and yet is beautiful. What are the chances that something could be randomly created to be perfect and beutiful at the same time? Almost none at all. And every time evolutionists try to explain something so that there is a way this happened the bible is proves to have been written by a divine being(God) because even though it is written thousands of years ago there is an explanation for every single thing today and for new things that we are just discovering and the bible has never been added to or taken from.

i do no longer help the assumption. As you assert the branches of Physics, arithmetic, and topological astronomy besides as different sciences are just to lots to place all of it at the same time. remember the super bang is in basic terms a concept and not a actuality! It will no longer be able to be shown as a actuality! Even Hawkings will no longer be able to get lower back to point 0, and he under no circumstances will. the reason being he's calling for the commencing up. So, enable us to now positioned the super bang on the shelve for a minuet and enable us to look on the expanse of the universe as continually being there. no longer each little thing it is in it. yet an expanse that has continually been. we've a commencing factor! an empty eternal expanse that has continually been there. each little thing interior the expanse we see today has order This we call the universe. It keeps to enhance interior the eternal expanse. each little thing follows each and all the regulations of physics, and math. So in basic terms how did the three dimensional universe as all of us are conscious of it start up? all of us understand from Einstein's formula E=MC^2 that we are able to get potential from rely. We additionally understand from Newton's regulation of physics that each and each action has an equivalent reaction. So, taking dynamic potential one ought to create each little thing and initiate up the action of each little thing created interior the expanse with order. is this logical? confident! Is it genuine? It ought to be because of the fact we proceed to discover greater approximately it employing the guidelines of physics and arithmetic. So this could open the biggest question of all, in basic terms who or what created it? This my chum i'm going to pass away as much as you to compliment.

False premise. The Big Bang Theory does not propose creation from absolutely nothing.

if you get an answer for this , someone will be in line for the nobel prize. they always say the big bang but they don't say what banged. some have said it was a piece of matter smaller than a grain of sand. I am prohibited from telling you what it actually was. keep thinking and it will come to you. each one of us is on our own journey.

    No body knows

the Big Bang is OUR universe with its known laws

We had no space outside or time before. our universe IS space time

very smart people are thinking about it

    , no good answers yet

that is why many people still say "god did it"
