Compatible processors for a laptop upgrade?
Hi, I currently want to upgrade my IBM ThinkPad X41's processor, but I am not sure which ones are compatible with it's motherboard. Alongside the usual Pentium M processors, do certain Celeron processors work too? I would to increase it's speed to over 2GHz, is it possible?
Also, my current specs are:
Intel Pentium M 778 1.6 GHz processor
2 MB L2 cache, 400 MHz FSB speed
Intel 915GM Express chipset
1 GB DDR2 SDRAM
60 GB hard drive
UPDATE:
Regarding the Celeron, is there a difference in the "Desktop" edition? On the retail box of the Celeron processor I plan to buy it says "Desktop", so I am not sure if these use a different socket type, motherboard, etc.

Most Celeron should work.
Overclocking, won't recommend that.
