  • How should I befriend this guy and be a supportive friend?

Hey guys, so there is this guy at my school in which I have many classes with (Orchestra, Science, the like). He is a jock but is EXTREMELY smart and friendly, compared to other classmates. Recently he seems to be somewhat taunted (though nonchalantly) by fellow classmates, including my friends for being accused of being gay. It is kind of obvious that he is considering ALL his friends are guys and he never seemed to ever have a friend or relationship with a girl (Along with the fact that his mother for some strange reason told my friends that his favourite show is Glee, though I don't see how this makes him gay). He sits next to me in all classes, so I was thinking that I could befriend him and give him a bit of friendly support, which he most certainly is in need of.

So how do you think I should do this and become a supportive friend? We are already kind of friendly acquaintances because we do talk to each other during classtime, but not really anything further than that.

Any ideas are appreciated, thank you.

  • Can't access my modem configuration page?

Hi guys, for the past day I have been trying to configure some settings on my modem and to do so I must access it from it's ip (192.168.250.1). However, when I load that ip in my browser it does not connect. How can I fix this?

By the way, I am currently connected through my D-Link 254 router which is connected to my WiMax modem.

  • Having an issue with Double NAT?

So I have found out that my router and modem are in a Double NAT, with my modem giving router it's own private ip instead of letting it use my public ip, which brings up the issue of me not being able to port forward. So I tried to connect to my modem and see if I could configure it to DMZ all ports to my router so I could resolve this issue, but when I tried to load 192.168.250.1 (my modem's ip on my local network) nothing came up! Could it be possible that my modem doesn't have a configuration page? If so, how will I be able to fix this Double NAT problem? Thanks!

For the record, I have a D-Link 254 router and a modem from my WiMax service.

  • Issue setting up port forwarding?

Hi guys, I have spent all day trying to set up port forwarding so my web server can be accessible from the internet. I have a D-Link 524 router and after following all the directions for setting up port forwarding, surprisingly it didn't work. I have already set up a static local ip for my mac server (192.168.0.100) and have already set up all the port forwarding. For some reason, under the "Status" category in the D-Link's settings, it says that my public ip provided from my isp is 192.168.250.170, which I am sure it is obviously not, for whatismyipaddress.com tells me that it is 70.103.20.179. To try to fix this, I tried to change my dynamic WAN ip to static and then change the provided public ip to the 70.103.20.179 one. Unfortunately, this did not work because the ISP Gateway Address was obviously a different domain than the public ip.

So, what do you guys think is wrong? How can I fix this?

  • Should I upgrade to this Mac?

Hi, I've been thinking about upgrading to a 2.16 ghz dual-core, 3gb, 20 in iMac with Snow Leopard (the white plastic version), which I found a really good price of $400. Is it worth upgrading from my 2.3 ghz single-processor AMD Sempron, 2gb Dell budget machine I bought in 09? I use my computer for web browsing, email, video/audio chat, office applications, making home movies, and the occasional java game. I currently own a iMac G3, so I have already "delve" into the world of Apple before, and I would like to get a Mac to replace my current Dell. Is it worth it?

  • Is my fish tank doing okay?

Yesterday I set up a new fish tank with 2 little-neck saltwater clams. I dropped in an algae pellet (as the clerk at Petsmart suggested) and let it be. Throughout yesterday I saw the clams extend their foot out of their shell, retract, etc. Today morning I surprised to find the tank water to be cloudy (though I believe this is because of the algae pellet) and one of my clams having his foot out, though both of them are tightly shut. Also, I found some white web-like stuff at the top of the tank, which I am not sure what it is. Is my fish tank doing okay, or is there something wrong?

  • Are my pet clams alive?

Yesterday I bought 8 Venus clams from the market, half which I cooked while the other half I kept as pets for my aquarium. They were all tightly shut when they were first put in the saltwater tank, but today their shells are a bit open (by just a crack). I also believe I saw some frilly things attached to the sides of one or two which looked like tiny fins. The water looks fine and I don't smell anything rotting, are my clams alive or dead then? I just lightly tapped some and they didn't move, does that mean they're dead? I read that it is fine to have market clams as pets, but are there any specifications on what I needed to do before putting them in the tank? Maybe slowly heating them up to a lukewarm temperature of my tank, or keeping them in a very cold tank?

  • Compatible processors for a laptop upgrade?

Hi, I currently want to upgrade my IBM ThinkPad X41's processor, but I am not sure which ones are compatible with it's motherboard. Alongside the usual Pentium M processors, do certain Celeron processors work too? I would to increase it's speed to over 2GHz, is it possible?

  • FTA Satellite Question?

I am interested in buying and setting up a FTA satellite system for my home, but I have two questions which need to be resolved before continuing:

    1. For a motorized FTA satellite system, do I need more than 1 LNB, or is that only for stationary sattelite systems?

    2. Do you need more than 1 satellite for each FTA receiver, or just one? (I am planning to buy 3 receivers.

Best answer will be used, thanks.

  • Can you get water in lung if you inhale moisture and it condenses in the lungs?

Hello, I have an extremely important question, and I need a bit of information to make sure if I need to go to the doctor. Can your collect water if you inhale moisture, can it condense in your lungs into water. I was recently in a sauna, and I think inhaled a bit too much, it was VERY humid. Now, a day later, i feel pressure around my chest, and I am very scared that it might be water in my lungs that condensed from the moisture from the sauna. I need a good answer fast, it is IMPORTANT!

  • What is the difference between canker sores and mouth herpes (Herpetic gingivostomatitis INSIDE MOUTH)?

Me and my friend recently got what looks like a white sore in our mouths. Mine is small, on my lower gums, and looks like it has a small hole in it. I had these before, but never researched them. I'm not sure if it is canker sores of Herpetic gingivostomatitis. And i'm not talking about the blister type of herpes on the outside of the lips, on talking about the white sore inside:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gingivostomatitis

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Herpesgingiva.JP...

If i do have Herpetic gingivostomatitis instead of a canker sore, is it contagious, and can it spread to other parts of the body like regular herpes?
