Can you get water in lung if you inhale moisture and it condenses in the lungs?
Hello, I have an extremely important question, and I need a bit of information to make sure if I need to go to the doctor. Can your collect water if you inhale moisture, can it condense in your lungs into water. I was recently in a sauna, and I think inhaled a bit too much, it was VERY humid. Now, a day later, i feel pressure around my chest, and I am very scared that it might be water in my lungs that condensed from the moisture from the sauna. I need a good answer fast, it is IMPORTANT!
Including the water, I also have high cholesterol, but I hope that it is not the case and is messing with my heart.

You don't get water in the lungs by inhaling steam. On the other hand steam inhalation is widely used in treating varied lung conditions.
But it is quite another thing if, in an ill-maintained sauna, you inhaled mold. If such is the case, you need to see a doctor.

It does. And a small amount does condense - but as the lungs are relatively warm (body termperature 37 deg C) only a small amount condenses. And as the lungs are wet anyway so that gases can dissolve for gaseous exchange, a little extra moisture actually helps because we don't have to use our own body's water to keep the lungs moist. This is one reason why people become dehydrated in dry climates and at high altituded: the moisture from our lungs evaporates and we lose it when we exhale. In humid conditions this doesn't happen nearly as much.
