Are Hawthorn Tree thorns toxic?
I got rid of a Hawthorn tree today and I just noticed all these swelled up scratches on my arms, They do itch and I know there wasn't any poison ivy or poison oak any where near it. Are Hawthorn thorns toxic in any way and is there a way to heal the scratches?
@Kaviani999, I'm pretty sure it was a Hawthorn. It may have been a Blackthorn tree though. It had long thorns at the end of each of the tree twigs.

No, actually they're used in medicine and food.
Are you sure they're really hawthorns?
