Playoff Bracket Question?

Does anyone know where I can get a printable playoff bracket online that has information like team names along with their record, etc?

BQ : How are the games laid out? Say the #1 Seed plays the #8 Seed, does the winner go on to play the winners of the #2 Seed and #7 Seed?

Update:

Alright, just wondering, yeah I know they haven't been set yet but I was wondering if some past sites ever made nice brackets and are planning again to make the same ones.

As has already been mentioned, the playoff seeds (and heck many of the playoff teams) have not been set yet, so there is nothing available yet. Additionally, the NHL does not use a strict bracket like the NCAA basketball tournament, it's more like the NFL playoffs where the teams are re-seeded after each round. In the first round, it's 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, and 4 vs 5. If there were a set bracket, that would mean that the winner of the 1 vs 8 series would always play the winner of the 4 vs 5 series, but that's not how it's done - instead, after the first round, the highest remaining seed plays the lowest remaining seed and the 2 in the middle form the other series. For example, take a look at last years Eastern Conference playoffs. The first round was as follows:

    1 Washington vs 8 Montreal

2 New Jersey vs 7 Philadelphia

    3 Buffalo vs 6 Boston

    4 Pittsburgh vs 5 Ottawa

The 8th seed Montreal defeated the 1st seed Washington, the 7th seed Philadelphia defeated the 2nd seed New Jersey, the 6 seed Boston defeated the 3rd seed Buffalo, and the 4th seed Pittsburgh defeated the 5th seed Ottawa. The remaining seeds were 4, 6, 7, and 8, which led to the match-ups:

    4 Pittsburgh vs 8 Montreal

    6 Boston vs 7 Philadelphia

I know that's still got the winner of the 1 vs 8 playing the winner of the 4 vs 5, but that's just coincidence. Had the Capitals been able to close it out when the had a 3 - 1 lead in the series instead of getting Halaked, the second round would have looked like this:

    1 Washington vs 7 Philadelphia

    4 Pittsburgh vs 6 Boston

As you can see, changing the winner of one single series ENTIRELY changed what the second-round match-ups would have been. If there were a strict bracket changing one series winner would only change that one match-up - Washington would have just been pitted against Pittsburgh instead of Montreal - but that's not how the NHL playoffs work.

NHL doesn't exactly use a bracket... the teams are reseeded after each round (top remaining seed plays bottom remaining seed) so like fr example if seeds 7,8,3, and 4 win then 3 plays 8 and and 4 plays 7 where as in a normal bracket without reseeding like the NCAA basketball tourney if a team wins a game they go on to play the winning team in the next bracket...

I'm sure one of NHL.com, TSN, or maybe ESPN will have one when they come out...

no, that is not howthey are laid out and why you wont have an ordinary bracket. the highest seed plays the lowest seed every round.

so if seeds #1,2,3,4 all win. then 1 plays 4, 2 plays 3.

you could maybe find round by round brackets.

First, i don't understand how helpful i could be with regard to the Seahawks triumphing the Wild Card around. The twelfth guy is a great deal in Seattle, yet Shawn Alexander is working like he has sandbags strapped to his ankles this season. And, Todd Collins and the Redskins are on hearth. This one might desire to flow to Washington. That aside, in case you do flow with the Seahawks, i do no longer see how they OR the Redskins might desire to beat the Packers. From there, i think of the Packers will beat the Cowboys who will probable advance the the identify interest. a million) Packers 2) Packers
