Nothing on this planet is Self Sufficient ..think..discuss...?
I know it really shouldn't be on RS but there have been so many ..things against Science on here lately..that I thought maybe... we could make some headway with Science..Faith, Respect for that which we all depend on..etc..more like spirtualty really... and gratitude...;-)
Well...If a person was to go out into the desert...naked..without water or food..how long would they last? ....without help..without depending on God's grace etc.etc. without someone rescuing them...,no matter what religion the rescuer was???

Rocks are entirely self-sufficient. That why there are so many of them.
And up in the sky too! Space if full of 'em!

Trees take carbon dioxide (CO2) and separate the carbon (wood) from the oxygen with help from the sun. Then when the wood burns the fire combines the carbon back with the oxygen...so you are right. In the Big Bam the singularity broke up into separate things that made up the singularity. Eventually this will all be fused back into a singularity once again...

Water. Solid, liquid, gas. Energy changes it but it stays here and changes back. There is much here as there was 1000 years ago. It is life, it create and sustains life. Pick it up, what is it. A chemical? Self sufficient.

Why is this in R&S?
We have finite terrestrial resources, an infinite universe, when the problem comes humanity will reap the bounties to be had past our atmosphere and across space.
