Does it really matter if someone believes in God or not, I myself believe in God, because after checking the alternatives I prefer to have God on my side and God in my heart.

Each person has to make their choice, if it suits their soul and serves them well on their journey through life, then it is a good belief, whether they believe in God or not.

It all depends how you define god. I define god like some others here: the sum total of all energy/mass in the universe. If you define him in the way that most monotheists do, then no. The only reason we have religious thought is because humans exists, and we ask ourselves metaphysical questions. We didn't get morals from god, we developed them because we are primates and must be social and work together to survive. People feel a need to believe because they feel an existential loneliness. We only know each other through the symptoms of the body, but god is supposed to know us in our minds. People fear death and wish for immortality. We want rewards and punishments after death because life is unfair.

Your use of "god" is broad in concept as demonstrated by the responses I have read so far.

If you are asking do you believe in the christians depiction of a god, then I would answer no. I do however believe in a god essence that includes all energy. Like cells in a body we are all part of a whole, ever changing, ever evolving, ever learning.

no, i just want some evidence before I spend my childhood like my dad did: Waking up at 6 in the morning before school to go to church.

I need scientific evidence too, and if you give me solid proof I'll believe you in a second :D

And like Cooking said. Why would a holy being give us something as evil as Justing Beiber???? Or Miley Cyrus? Or in that matter, my mother? (her being worse than the two, boy is she gonna be the mother in law, thats from TV shows...)

Which god? Atum, Marduk, Odin, Ahura Mazda, Jehovah, Zeus, Pan Gu?

I believe in that for which there is evidence. There is no credible evidence for any of the thousands of gods that human beings have dreamed up.

I have a relationship with God, the Supreme Being, so I no longer believe in Him.

I don't believe in any deities. This is for the simple reason that I have not yet observed any adequate evidence suggesting that any deities really exist.

The idea of god or gods, makes Absolutely no sense to me. It's sounds, looks, and acts like a fairy tale. So to me it is.

I do not believe in God, my reasons being that it just MAKES SENSE.

Although you seem like a decent Christian.

  • I do not.

I have never found, nor needed any reason to believe in any god or gods.
