*tongue pierced people? help me out here :)?

im 13 and i want to get my tongue pierced.

i have researched many things about the tongue piercing.:

history

after care

food

healing

pro's and con's

and others :)

I have great grades always A's and sometimes B's. I always do my homework

i do my chores, and have "sucked up" to my parents by doing mostly anything :) haha

I dont ask for many things but this is something i really wish to get this. Body art, and piercings are things i like, but tongue piercing is what I just want to get now. its a way to express myself and I AM NOT doing it because someone has it, to fit in, ect.

** heres the thing my mom and dad are not too fond of it, can any of you help me out telling my parents this why they should let me?

If i can get it, i want to get it for my 14 birthday or even 15.

In almost every state, you cannot get tattoos or piercings until you are 16 years old and accompanied by a parent but in the very best establishments they won't go near you until you are 18. I myself have wanted piercings and tattoos since I was 11 years old. I made a doc. on my computer listing the tats I wanted and piercings. I check it every now and again. I am 17 now and have changed my mind about the piercings, I don't want any because I have changed as a person. As for tats, the very first two I ever wrote down, I still want today and will get the smallest one done on my 18th b-day this year. I have also decided on other tats I want. What I'm saying is this: Wait. Think about it for a few more years. If three years from now you still want it, you'll probably be happy. But I am thankful everyday that I could not get a piercing 4 years ago, today I do not want it and would very unhappy had I gone through with it. Just think about it. You'll be happy you did.

If you're parents say "no", you have to wait until you're 18. Any shop that's willing to do it on someone under 18, isnt somewhere you WANT you have it done in the first place.

Tongue piercings are a lot of work. They're very prone to infection and quite often chip teeth. I would just wait until you're 18 to do it. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT try to do it on your own or have a friend do it. Very important blood vessels and nerves that run through your tongue...piercing it in the wrong place could give you HUGE trouble.

When I was 12, I REALLY REALLY wanted to get my belly button pierced. My parents didnt approve. So, on my 18th birthday, I went out and go it done. Needless to say, even with cleaning it everyday, it got infected. I got tired of it after a month or so and let it close up. Things are always as great as they seem like.

I would wait until you're 18. Give yourself time to think about it.

tell them you want it for your 14 birthday.. if they say no keep telling them... they'll end up saying yes:)
