Protestants view of angels?

Most Protestant Christians don't believe in the communion of saints. That dead people can't hear us. But I was wondering about angels. Do Protestant Christians believe angels can here us? Can they pray for us? We know 3 are named in the bible, and many many more are talked about in the bible. Where do they fit in with God's plan? Thanks for your kind answers.

I believe that the Protestant view of angels is very similar to the Catholic view.

Protestants would not ask angels to pray for us though. Protestants tend to pray directly to God and not through intermediaries or intercessors.

Protestants view of angels? Where do they fit in with God's plan?

    * Angels are servants / messengers of God, they carry on the orders God give them.

    * It is up to God if He will use an angel to answer our prayer or He will use other means.

Do Protestant Christians believe angels can hear us?

    * Angels are more powerfull than humans, true; but the Bible does not get into many details on which physical powers God have given to angels.

    * If angels visits us they surely can hear us. Multiple examples for this are in the Bible when angels were sent to Abraham, Lot, Jacob (Israel), Daniel, Peter, John, and many others.

    * You are asking if an angel at the heavens can hear a christian praying here on Earth? The Bible does not explain if they can do that.

    Can they pray for us?

    * I think they can, but that does not interest me.

    * We do not pray to angels, we pray directly to God, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

    * Do you waste time with a temporary administrative assistant if you got a direct line of communication with the CEO? Then why wasting time asking an angel to pray for us to God, if we have given direct access to God through Jesus Christ?

Source(s): Hebrews 1:14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

Angels would be God's servants. I wouldn't imagine they're standing around taking prayer requests. Protestants believe it's most efficient to cut out the middle men and pray to God directly. Don't ask His buddies, don't try to go over His head and tell his mommy, just ask Him Himself.

  • Protestants believe that angels are messengers of God, servants who just do his bidding. They don't think they are active in people's affairs by doing things such as praying for them. They think that god orders them to protect them, however
