Could I be going through the change of life ? I have so many questions about it?

The reason is what i read online said that first you go through Pre-Menopause where you have skipped periods and that it last for a few years before you are at Menopause. And when you go one whole year without a period at all then its Menopause. Problem is I have always been regular with my periods and never miss or skip one. Now I recently turned 50 in March and I am late for April. At the end of March I thought I was going to start because I saw alittle pink and thought it was blood and that i would be starting but after a couple days that went away and my my period didn't start like i thought. So now I am thinking did I miss being Pre-menopause and now just stopping my period and I am in menopause ? because at my age I should of already went through the first stage which is Pre-menopause and be going through Menopause now. but its confusing so could I just had no signs of Pre menopause? And now be in menopause? well if i am not going through Pre menopause then I guess that's a good thing so i wouldn't have to worry about Hot Flashes and all Sense that's when you get all that stuff with Pre-menopause. If you have been through this or know thanks alot for any info or help.

Menopause doesn't have as much to do with age as it does with genetics, cardiovascular and skeletal as well as reproductive health.

You sound to me like you're menopausal, but you can still get hot flashes and mood swings because your hormones are changing. Pre-menopause only occurs in some women, and usually only the women who go through menopause earlier (my mum started at age 44, now she's going through menopause).

Sounds like you're in perimenopause, which can also be called premenopause. You're having irregular periods. Since it's only been a matter of a few weeks when things are off-schedule, it's too soon to say that you're in menopause. You can have hot flashes during perimenopause as well as during menopause, so the reason you're not having hot flashes is likely because your hormones haven't become irregular enough for them to happen. The whole reason they say that you're only in menopause when you've gone 12 months in a row with no period is that being late, or skipping a few periods, is very common in the years leading up to menopause. So what you are experiencing now is very common and probably not menopause. Also, average age of menopause is 51. You're right around that, but half of women reach menopause after age 51, so it doesn't mean that at your age you should have gone through menopause. Only around half of women have gone through menopause at your age.
