Accidentally used mineral oil on leather?

After a friend recommended using mineral oil on some leather products, including a nice coat, I soon read that mineral oil is petroleum based and should not be used on leather, as it will actually de-tan and even weaken the leather. Should I attempt to dry it out and apply neatsfoot or other appropriate oil? or should I just let it run its course and just apply neatsfoot or other natural oils to it later? Other suggestions? Thanks

Actually mineral oil is not good to apply on leather product. If this happened, first of all I will rub wash with water and let them for dry. Then I will reapply appropriate oil and let them dry before I use it.

You can attempt anything you want, but it's an oil, and won't come out
