What are some good scary korean movies?

I know that korea makes alot of good horror / scary movies. Im not looking soo much for blood and guts or things poping out at you but more of the paranormal scifi kind of movies. I have seen a couple short independent films on youtube i really liked. SPeaking of which there was one on youtube i watched where she was drowning in a tub and was talking about how if dreams are real than dying isnt so bad and then the husband comes home. it was in korean with english subtexts and a short film.

Sadly, I don't know many Korean horror movies. The only Korean horror movie I have seen is "A Tale of Two Sisters," but lucky you - it's really good! It does have some gore (A bloody body bag is seen being dragged and leaving a trail) in one scene, but it isn't a gore fest. It's very creepy and beautifully shot. It's a little abstract and confusing, but a fascinating movie.

It's actually a modernization of a not-so-happy Korean fairy tale called "Janghwa, Hongryeon," which apparently means "Rose Flower, Red Lotus." It is about the sisters Moo-hyeon and the shy and timid Su-yeon, it begins with Moo-Hyeon in a psychotherapy session and is shown a picture of her family consisting of herself, Su-yeon, their father and their step mother. The film primarily focuses on the two sisters who do not get along with their cruel Step Mother or their morose and grim father, and is allegorical about the importance of siblings relying on each other for support. However, their house becomes haunted by a violent spirit but Su-yeon never has anything to say when the parents are near and Moo-hyeon does not convince them, and often angers them by talking about the spirit even when bruises and cuts appear on her body. They get into trouble often, but Su-yeon is almost always ignored while Moo-hyeon is blamed. It's all very tense and it gets really creepy, and the ending is not only bone chilling but really, really sad.

Like I said - it has a very dream like and entrancing look. Despite being modern, you do get the feeling of its folkloric roots. The "Evil Stepmother" archetype is there of course, though done well - and the cinematography and artistic design of their home all look like morbid but haunting paintings. It's all very well made.
