I just started my son on solids :) BUT...?
But I'm not sure how to really "plan" his eating schedule. He's 6 months old and so far he has tried (apples just today so we're still allergy testing) pears, bananas, sweet potato, rice cereal, and oat cereal) After apples I'm going to try peas.
So he just turned 6 month and my question is: How much solids should he eat per day.. When? I have a baby bullet so each serving is 2oz...Should I give him 1? or 2? Should he eat cereal each time? HELP!

When I first started giving my son solids I did about 1 oz in the morning and 1 oz in the evening (of the same food) I used jars so it was 1/2 jar in the morning and the rest that evening. Eventually he started fussing when I finished the 1 oz so I started giving him the whole jar (about 2.5 oz)
Once he gets used to it you can start feeding it to him until he doesn't want any more.
You also need to go by how much milk he usually drinks. If he is an 8oz bottle kind of baby you will be able to give him more at a time because his stomach can handle more. My son has never drank more than 4oz at a time so I didn't give him as much baby food in one sitting.
You don't have to give him cereal each time, but if he's having trouble adjusting to the taste of the food you're giving him you can do 1/2 cereal 1/2 other puree to make the taste a lil less strong.

For the first 12 months, almost all nutrition should come from milk, solids are for practice. My son is almost 10 1/2 months (we first introduced him to solids at 9 months) and he eats maybe a meal a day in solids, or sometimes he'll just take bites here and there (i'll give him a bite of my banana or an orange slice to chew on etc) no need to worry, the point of feeding any solids before 12 months is to ensure they learn how to chew and swallow correctly, that's it, so don't worry about it :) If you are set on getting him on solids at this age, then just start with a meal a day and add additional meals whenever you feel like it and feed him until he turns his head away. Hope this helps!

I popped out a container 3 times a day and fed him til he was full. Now I give him real food (avocado chunks, mashed potatoes, mashed blueberries) a few times a day.
