wine/beer lees - can I dump it in my compost bin?

just started homebrewing again, after a while. Always used to just wash it down the sink - will my compost and ultimately my garden, benefit from this new addition? I grow potatoes in my compost bin, as an aside.

All advice very much appreciated

Absolutely. The spent yeast and other microorganisms will benefit your compost and worms love it. The only caution is, if you have a lot of it, add extra carbon to the pile because it can quickly sour.
