Burning smell and heat coming from driver side tire after brake pads replaced.?
My brake pads were replaced yesterday (nothing else), and I have only driven it a few miles since. After I dropped the kids off at school this morning, I noticed a horrible burning rubber-type smell coming from the driver-side tire, and I could sense heat. What is wrong here??

generaly brand new brakes do have a funny smell depending on how much u used them to slow down from decent speeds. they have a funky smell to them while brand new and it might only be by one tire cause that caliper might grab a lil more than the others. breaks usualy arent completely perfect on which ones grab the first or the hardest. but it doesnt hurt to have it checked out but if it was stuck u should be able to jack up that tire and try turn the wheel by hand if u cant turn it then it is be restricted by a caliper if not then id not worry about it right away. sumtimes if u get a caliper trying to stick it will stick for awhile but let go as u drive it down the road so the smell should go away as long as u dont hit it if its sticking only part time. but id still bet on its new breaks there gonna get hot and there gonna smell for a day or 2 then it will slowly be gone. if they was really stuck u wouldnt of been able to press the caliper piston back in to install brand new pads. so obviously if it is sticking its part time or ull be able to tell by raising that tire rtrying to spin the wheel, usualy it depends how hot it is that day and how far u drive and how much u had to use the breaks if it is just smell from new breaks they will do that aswell being brand new....

The caliper that pushes the brake pads to the rotor is probably sticking and not allowing the pads to retract. Have the caliper replaced or rebuilt.

You have either a bad caliper or bad brake hose. Take it back to where brakes were replaced and have them check it out.

I am guessing the drivers side break is stuck on...thus heating up the rim and causing the rubber smell..have it look at...who ever put the brakes on, did something wrong.
