for as long as i can remeber they have always played at 11am because of Patriots day

Boston marathon every year at this time the red sox play their game early out of respect for the annual event to show support BTW the sox won 9 to 1 vs the blue jays so If no american won the marathon the home team at least won the ball game something to make people happy.

Because it was Patriot's Day in Boston. They always start the game at 11:05am on Patriot's Day.

Also because the red sox have a game in Oakland,ca tomorrow and its a 8-9 hour flight.
