I do not think so despite the good intentions of many in America who laboured under the awful misconception that they were there to plant the seeds of democracy.

The Iraqis did get rid of a very cruel dictator, but with their loss of thousands of friends and relatives was the price worth it? Maybe in 10 years if a good, honest democratic government can be establish then the Iraqis might be better off.

    Yes.

    Consider the facts:

Three national elections and two national referendums. In fact the last elections produced - for the first time in Iraq's history - an orderly and peaceful transition of power from one political party to another.

Seven years of economic expansion. In fact - at the current rate Iraq's domestic economy will exceed the value of their oil exports in a few years.

A free press and open debate about government scandals and efficiency. (The prerequisite for honest government)

A professional military whose loyalty is to the country instead of a political leader or political party. (Another 'first' for Iraq)

A greater expansion of infrastructure than has occured at any time in the country's history.

    Improved literacy rates and education.

You seem to have failed to look beyond the news headlines. Haven't you noticed that the only time the news media focuses on negative stories and does not give in-depth analysis?

Personally, my theory about the current lack of reporting about Iraq is because the news media is advoiding the subject lest people start asking them how they managed to be so badly wrong regarding our progress in Iraq between 2003-2008.

They are the next Palestinians earmarked for slow Zionist led genocide. Libya looks to be next.
