Liberals, do you think people on government assistance should have to work for their entitlements?

Question

With the exception of the sick, elderly and disabled, what reasons can you give that would justify why an able-bodied person (meaning somebody who can obviously work various types of jobs) should not have to earn their government paycheck via community service, or other various tasks in which the federal, state, or local governments just cannot afford to allocate additional funds towards?

Although i am more of a Moderate-Liberal, i would agree that those on Welfare SHOULD work for their entitlements. As long as they don't become so extreme (which they never would in today's world) as the old Poor Houses that filled Older European States. But, the problem with this is what is the difference between a job with the government, and those on Welfare then? I guess it depends on the type of work, but generally, i would agree with you

Yes they should have to work for their entitlements,,,, and maybe even be on the organ donar list,,,, that is they have to give up an organ if they have been on entitlements for a certain time and still dint work. if after a six months you haven't found a job that = a kidney,,,,,,,,,,,,,a year= half a lung,,,,,,,,,,, after a year you should for go your life and all your organs should be harvested.....

We just need to tax the rich more and no one in this country will have to work anymore.  Why work when we can get everything free?
