What do you think about the 2006 Mercedes Benz S350?
I am considering buying it. It's $22,000 and has 57,000 miles. Assuming it's clean, does that sound like a good deal? It this a reliable car? Or a dog? Opinions from owners or former owners or MB mechanics would be most appreciated.
Love,
Anna
MPG is 16 city/23 highway. Not fuel efficient, but not a guzzler either. It's a 3.7L V6. I will check the CARFAX before buying. Still, anyone have an opinion about the car other than the fuel consumption?
Bill W, maybe they don't offer them anymore but they apparently did in 2006. I am not concerned about fuel prices, someone else brought that up. Will someone knowledgeable please give me an opinion about this car??
I ran a CARFAX and it was imported from Germany.

It's an S class body with a motor from an E350. Some people say the motor is not powerful enough for this body, but, come on, it's not a sports car. I have an E320 and it has more than enough power.
If the car has been taken good care of, I'd go for it. It's very comfortable and looks great.
As with any used car, have YOUR mechanic look at it before you buy. If the seller doesn't want you to take the car to YOUR mechanic, you do not want this car.

I'm guessing you live outside the U.S. since they don't even offer the 350 here. If I were you and worried about fuel prices I would go with the diesel engine option because you get TONS of torque for everyday driving. Not to mention the diesel is way more efficient at producing the necessary power to get around town and will burn far less fuel. Also the engine reliability is really high on diesel motors

Gas, Gas, Gas Guzzler....
I wouldn't call it a dog , but there are better choices out there during times of high
fuel prices, which will probably stay up there for a while..
Just my opinion
Former MB employee..... ( yikes !!! )

screw gas guzzle tax it applies on brand new cars and this is old so the price already inclue that tax. and it isnt thirsty engine so the gas guzzler tax wont apply here. on the other hand check the VIN see if the car has history
