How do I hook 2 subs up to a 2 channel amp?
I have 2 Diamond Audio D3 12" subs (DVC; 4-ohm) and a Rockford Fosgate Power 851s amplifier. The amp is a 2-channel amp gives 850W RMS @4-ohms on a bridged connection. I would like to hook both of my D3's to this amp on the bridged connection so I can get maximum power to my subs.
I don't want to put them on separate channels because each channel only gives about 225W RMS, and these subs need at least 400W RMS each. I know I could wire them in parallel and hook them up to the amp, but I was wondering if there was another way I could do it. Is it possible to wire the subs separate from each other but still make use of the bridged connection?
I have a strong feeling the answer is no, but I'm still curious.

Wiring them with the coils in series and the subs in parallel with the amp bridged would be the "ideal" method IMO: http://images.the12volt.com/12voltimages/2_4ohm_dv...
Total power, as you said, would be 850w rms, 425w per sub.
But there would be little if any difference in wiring them on individual channels with the coils wired parallel for 2 ohms, since the amp is 425x2 at that impedance: http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/le...
