  • My dog ate a whole onion just now...?

I heard onions are very bad for dogs. The dog is a chocolate lab and weighs 70 lbs. Should I take her to the animal clinic?

  • Please look: Is my dog sick?

Her nose is warm & dry, and she threw up a little tiny bit yesterday but today she threw up everything and I'm worried about her. Is there anything I can do besides calling the vet? I'd rather not have a huge vet bill unless it's absolutely unavoidable.

  • How do I hook 2 subs up to a 2 channel amp?

I have 2 Diamond Audio D3 12" subs (DVC; 4-ohm) and a Rockford Fosgate Power 851s amplifier. The amp is a 2-channel amp gives 850W RMS @4-ohms on a bridged connection. I would like to hook both of my D3's to this amp on the bridged connection so I can get maximum power to my subs.

I don't want to put them on separate channels because each channel only gives about 225W RMS, and these subs need at least 400W RMS each. I know I could wire them in parallel and hook them up to the amp, but I was wondering if there was another way I could do it. Is it possible to wire the subs separate from each other but still make use of the bridged connection?

I have a strong feeling the answer is no, but I'm still curious.

  • BOSS CAP2B won't charge?

There is power coming from the battery and the ground wire is hooked up properly. When I put the negative wire on the cap's negative terminal and then touch the resistor that came with the cap, which is connected to the positive wire, to the cap's positive terminal, the screen won't flicker like it's supposed to. I don't know what to do.

Oh, and earlier I accidentally made sparks on the negative terminal. Maybe the capacitor is damaged?

  • Is my subwoofer blown?

I've had a Diamond D3 12" subwoofer for a year. I had never had a big amp before today; I've always had 500 watts and below. I had never really pushed my sub before. Today I bought a new amp for my sub. It is a Rockford Fosgate 2 channel 850 watt amp. It replaced my 500 watt Alpine amp. I was playing around with the gain to try to get the sub to sound good, but I accidentally let the sub play on too high of a setting for too long. The sub started distort, and it kept getting worse, and before I could turn the gain back down (this all happened within a period of about 10 seconds) the sub stopped working. I thought it had just clipped so I expected it to come back on in a few seconds but it never did. I let it rest for an hour and came back to it to see if it had just overheated or something, but it still didn't work.

TL;DR - The gain was set too high on my new amp and my subwoofer stopped working.

I'm afraid that I may have blown it. I feel sick to my stomach because if I did blow it, then that's $160 down the drain :C

  • Motherboard memory standard?

I am planning buying an XFX nForce 750i SLI mobo, and it's memory standard is DDR2 800.

I have in my possession DDR2 667. Will the mobo accept DDR2 667 even though the standard is 800?

I know the difference is just speed, but idk whether or not it will mess things up if i use the 667.

  • Putting a PCI-E 2.0 x16 card in a PCI-E x16 slot?

    What's the difference between PCI-E 2.0 x16 and PCI-E x16? Bandwidth?

And would putting a PCI-E 2.0 x16 card in a PCI-E x16 slot create bad bottlenecks? Or would it only make a slight impact on performance?

My best friend's girlfriend and this girl I'm speaking of are best friends, and I have been told that tthis girl likes me, but she doesn't act like it. We'll be textin and she'll just stop replying to my texts. It makes me feel like sh!t cuz I don't know what the eff is goin on.

What should I do? I don't get to see her that often, and when i do she's very shy and it makes it hard for me to talk to her, even though she talked to my best friend and was like "yeah i like him, we have a lot in common"... I don't know, i think that i just suck at getting girls. this is the first girl that i've ever gotten this far with (pathetic for an 18 year old, right?) and i don't want to lose her cuz i like her and she likes me but she doesnt want a BF cuz she's been hurt so much in the past by her ex's.

  • Can I wire a 4ohm sub to make it a 2ohm sub?

I have a Diamond D3 12" subwoofer and an Alpine MRP-M500 amplifier. It's a 500 Watt amp- 500 watts RMS@ 2ohms and 300 watts RMS@4ohms. I was wondering if I could rewire the subwoofer to make it a 2ohm sub so it would draw more power and play louder. Is that even possible?

  • Has she lost interest ALREADY?!?

OK, I liked this girl and she seemed to like me. Here's how the whole thing went down (copied from a question that I asked 2 days ago; today's question is at the bottom) :

"I went out to the movies with my best friend (we'll call him john) and his girlfriend (we'll call her tracy) about a week ago and they brought along a girl (we'll call her amanda, one of Tracy's close friends) that I hadn't seen in about a year since she left my school, and man did she look cute. We watched the movie, went out to dinner, I talked to her a little bit, mad her laugh a couple of times and everything was cool. Well, 2 days later after my graduation Amanda (which according to tracy, had wanted to come but her parents wouldn't let her because she was grounded) had been wanting my number ever since the last time that I had saw her. So we made another movie night and I got her number with no problems. I went over to her house one time because we were waiting for other friends to show up so we could all chill, and amanda and I talked for about 40 minutes and she seemed shy, but we talked ok. Now, I've been texting this girl for the past 4 days and we seem to have a lot in common, and for the past 2 nights she always says "text me tomorrow :)" (does this in particular show a little bit of interest? (We text at least 50 or 60 texts a day) I'm starting to feel more comfortable talking to her and I even told her that I liked talking with her and she said the same about me. Sometimes, she will start texting me without me prompting her to. I feel that I'm learning her a little better and a little bit at a time, but I really need to ask her out on a date to get to know her better. I will be seeing her today when I pick her up to go to my buddy's graduation and I will have 40 minutes in the car each way to talk to her, plus graduation and the after-party."

TL;DR- A girl seemed interested in me, I like her, we were talking really well for about 5 days, but she seems to be ignoring me now!

She seemed interested, yes? Here's the question: The past 2 days she takes forever to respond to texts, and I barely got 2 texts out of her today. She was working when I texted her, so I texted her again when her shift answered, but that was about an hour ago and she still hasn't answered. She is always saying that she's tired because she works a lot, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. We were supposed to have a date this wednesday. Does her shyness play a part? Has she lost interest already? Up till now she had no problem talking me.

    ...or am I overreacting?

  • What's the next step?

I went out to the movies with my best friend (we'll call him john) and his girlfriend (we'll call her tracy) about a week ago and they brought along a girl (we'll call her amanda, one of Tracy's close friends) that I hadn't seen in about a year since she left my school, and man did she look cute. I will be seeing her today when I pick her up to go to my buddy's graduation and I will have 40 minutes in the car each way to talk to her, plus graduation and the after-party.

    Now to my questions:

    1) From what you have read, does this girl seem to be interested in me, even a little?

    2) What would be a good way/time to ask this girl out? I want to sooooo badly but I want to make sure that I've established a good enough friendship with her so that when I finally ask her out I won't creep her out. How can I tell when the time's right? I've been playing it all by ear and my heart so far...

    3) I'm a bad planner, so if and when I go out on this date, what are some fun places that will have good atmosphere to feel comfortable and have fun? (She lives on the beach btw, so that's old to her) I need some fun suggestions please!!

    4) Am I doin this right?!? Cuz I have nooooo clue what I'm doin!! :P

Thanks in advance to anyone who gives me advice!! :)

  • Hooking up new speakers. How many channels do I need?

I bought a Diamond D112.2 subwoofer and an alpine M500 Class-D amp a few weeks ago, hooked 'em up myself, and everythings dandy except some distortion from the stock speakers. Now I am ready for some new speakers. I am looking at Diamond stuff again. I am thinking of buying these to replace the rear speakers: http://www.diamondaudio.com/content/view/180/198/

and these for the front: http://www.diamondaudio.com/content/view/177/195/

Now the question is: do I need a 2 channel or a 4 channel amp ? Is it 1 channel per 2 speakers, or is it 1 channel per speaker?

I was looking at these two amps. Which one do I need?

  • This subwoofer can handle this amp, right?

I'm new to the whole car stereo stuff. I just bought a Diamond D112 ( http://www.diamondaudio.com/content/view/140/157/ ) and I am looking at a 350 watt Kenwood amp ( http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/Amplif... ) that a friend is selling. This sub can handle the amp, right? And if it will handle it OK or not, any tips or recommendations on how many watts/rms I should be looking for.

  • I think i broke off a part of my kneecap.?

I was running, and I tripped and fell and slid on my right kneecap a few days ago. It hurt really bad and it was sore the next day and I thought it was just a bruise. Apparently it isn't just a bruise that will go away with time. It is numb on the part where I slid and I can wiggle a small piece of my kneecap around inside the skin. What would a doctor do for treating this? Is there surgery involved?

  • ATI 4870 series vs. My OC'ed NVIDIA 9800 GT?

How much of a performance increase would we see if I replaced my OC'ed PNY 9800GT [core@650MHz, memory@950MHz, shader@1620MHz] versus any of the ATI Radeon 4870's? ATI's 4000 series seems like a pretty powerful line of graphics cards.

    System Specs:

    INTEL CORE 2 QUAD 9300@2.5GHz

    6GB DDR2 RAM

400 WATT PSU [might have to upgrade this?]

  • Futuremark 3DMark Vantage problem.?

    Here are my system specs:

    Intel Core 2 Quad 9300@2.5GHz w/ locked 333MHz FSB

    6GB DDR2 RAM

    NVIDIA GEFORCE 9800GT OC'ed

  • 9800 GT video problem.?

Hey, guys. I just bought a Gateway FX 4710-UB003A, and I wasn't having any problems with it until recently, when playing F.E.A.R., Test Drive Unlimited, or GRID, the video will get these weird blue or red dots and lines in the picture, and two seconds later the computer freezes, and a blue screen comes up and it gives an error and it dumps the physical memory and restarts. What is the problem? The 9800 GT is factory overclocked. It gets hot, so i turn the fan up to anywhere from 70% RPM to 100% RPM with NVIDIA forceware. I was going to get a fan for just the video card to blow directly on it. I just bought this computer four weeks ago at Best Buy. I really don't want to get another computer, I want to fix the problem. only if its absolutely necessary would i get a new computer. The weird thing is, is that it doesn't have this problem while playing HL2 EP2, CS:S or TF2, just the three mentioned above. Can anyone help me?
