Please look: Is my dog sick?

Her nose is warm & dry, and she threw up a little tiny bit yesterday but today she threw up everything and I'm worried about her. Is there anything I can do besides calling the vet? I'd rather not have a huge vet bill unless it's absolutely unavoidable.

Some doggies just have very sensative tummys ..i would call a vet and then look into switching food brands some brands don;t agree with a tdoggies stomach.. also instead of bagged treats cook up a chicken breast and slice it up and give it to them for treats but about your questions deffinatly call the vet.. it's most likley just an upset stomach but it better to get it checked ou

How would you know if it's unavoidable unless you see the vet? Sorry, but this is the cost of owning a pet, and believe me, none of us want to spend money at the vet. A simple office visit is relatively cheap, so there's no reason not to take her. If it's something serious, it will be cheaper in the long-run if you start treatment asap

Sometimes dogs vomit. Our dog if we don't feed him on time vomits. Check to see what was in the vomit. Was it dog food or was it something disgusting? Dogs will also get into anything smelly and nasty. Garbage, old food, animals that may have died in your yard, cat food, crumbs and gunk on the ground, the litter box and even soap from the shower. Having a wet and cold nose is just as normal as being dry and hot. It's not indicative of anything. If they aren't holding down water, or it looks like there may be blood take them to a doctor. Also just keep in mind it may have been an upset stomach. And we all know what happens when you go to the doctor with a cold. ;) If you're very worried, go to a vet.

Source(s): lots and lots of vet visits.
  • If she can hold water down, is not throwing up more then a couple times a day and does not have diarrhea I would give it a couple days. Make sure she gets plenty to drink. Dehydration is the biggest worry. Only offer small amounts of food at a time. If she gets worse or shows no improvement in 2 or 3 days then get her to a vet.

if the ***** cant keep water down you need to call a vet, if she can and she not too skinny it should be ok for a day, just dont feed her for a day then try again tomorrow if shes still throwing up tomorrow u need to get her to a vet,

but like u say her nose is dry so make sure shes drinking plenty of water because that means shes dehydrated if not... vet time

    hope she's ok

If you had something wrong with you, and you couldn't communicate if it was serious or not, would you like them to phone a doctor for you?
