My Gateway stock NVIDIA 9800GT vs. an other brand NVIDIA 9800GT?
How much of a performance difference is there between my current 9800GT [came with the computer] versus, say, a different 9800GT on newegg.com?

core@650MHz
memory@950MHz
shader@1620MHz

There shouldn't be much of a difference because it is the same card but manufactured by a different company. The speed may be different because the company overclocked it themselves.

Probably not much of a difference at all. The stock card may be better because it is direct from nVidia. My EVGA 9500 gt is probably not as good as the nVidia (not EVGA) 9500 gt just because EVGA modified it.

is your card dedicated? or integrated? if its not dedecated than of course a new card would work better. if it is dedicated i would think gateway would produce them the same way as any other manufacturer would.
