When you first came out did you feel ashamed?

I was dating this girl and she broke up with about a month ago saying she was straight and not bi anymore. She said when people asked her about her sexuality she felt ashamed and like she wanted to "shrivel up and die". I told her I kinda had the same experience when I told everyone I was lesbian. When they would ask me at first I was nervous and sorta wanted to say no its not true but I told them anyway cause I knew it was time I quit pretending.

Did you ever feel this way? Is it normal for her to say shes straight when shes not?

I was not ashamed i was nervous. When some one is afraid to tell others they are gay they will always try to hide. I can tell you from personal experience it is not healthy and she will never be happy until she comes out.

I'm partially out of the closet. And I felt a hell of a lot better coming out.

No way. When my parents told me I was gay, they made it clear that being ashamed of it was not an option.
