Tattoo Ideas, 10 points best answer.?

I'm 16 and finally getting my first tattoo. My mother and I have had a lot of arguments over this and she finally thinks I'm mature enough (due to me juggling 2 jobs, school work and taking care of the house when she's working) to have a tattoo.

But, I need design ideas. I want something 100% original. And what's better then my own design?

So I want people to help me think of something tasteful and a nice place to have it. Seeing as it's my first tattoo I'm not going for any of the silly ideas I have e.g. on my lower arm, until I have obviously given it a lot of thought and I'm in a stable career and not in school.

So I want a general idea of what you think I should have. Tings that have affected my life include:

- I'm an open lesbian.

- I have had many years of bullying (both physical and emotional)

- I'm a musician (Playing guitar, bass, drums, piano and ukulele)

- I'm even in a band (Only Lazy On School Days)

- I am a part time actress in Small time productions in my local area.

- I am an ambitious photographer and artist (having one of my pieces sold at a charity auction)

- I have a weakened immune system and struggle to stay out of hospital for longer then a month.

- My father fought in both the Iraq and Afghan war.

- I have had issues with drugs (but were resolved after a long period of time in therapy)

So think of an idea containing 1 or more of these things and a nice place to put it :)

Thank you.

Update:

Dear Richard,

Not only have you offended me. But you have offended my mother and my morals.

My mother has NOTHING to be ashamed of. I an openly lesbianbecausee it's MY choice.

As for her allowing me to have a tattoo. It is her choice on if I'm allowed one. I'm paying for it MYSELF. She is agreeing on asuitablee design and place. If anything I should have a tattoo that says mother (but I don't like them) Why? Because she is a sick woman suffering withseverala diseases. She looks after my family fairly and correctly.

You are not worth the time of day.

    Whew! Well, here's the scoop!

You are only 16, and this is a time when you must be careful when and if you get inked this young.

That is because you are not finished growing physically or mentally. This means that your tattoo image or words have a high probability of stretching and distorting in the next few years, and you may then need to have a new tattoo cover up image when you are an adult. Also, mentally, you brain is not matured yet (this is factual, not an opinion or an individual thing), and this means that your judgment and choices will not have the depth of understanding that you will have in a few years.

Soooo, what to do? Take your time, and if in doubt, you wait until there is no doubt for at least 6 months.

Now, as to your tattoo image ideas... 1st I recommend reading this article on how to get a tattoo without regret:

    http://galadarling.com/article/how-to-get-a-great-...

Make sure it is not trendy, and never pick something as a statement to others. Make it personal, and meaningful to you, and something that will hold up for your whole life, not for just now and the people you are around and/or the situation(s) that you are in right now.

And, you should know about tattoos - here's 'how stuff works' about tattoos:

    http://health.howstuffworks.com/skin-care/beauty/s...

You should also be aware of the differences between quality work and poor tattooing and poor artwork. You need to find the best tattooist that you can find, and pay what it costs - do not bargain hunt, but instead, save up to get the best possible.

You also need to be aware of current aftercare methods, here is a link to an incredible tattoo artist Pat Fish:

and here's her site, you should check it out in depth:

    http://www.luckyfish.com/

You need great references to take to your tattoo artist, so that he/she can draw up a great custom tattoo image for you.

The good news is that you seem intelligent, thorough, and thoughtful. You have a good foundation for your image ideas too.

I feel from what you listed that you need a strong image. It needs to be creative and unique and suited to your personality. You can use your artwork or artwork that you love.

As far as placement, if you get something now, it should not be on your belly, but maybe your shoulder blade(s) or upper back, to account for growth.

I would like to do some image searching for you, from your ideas, but do not have the time at the moment. You can email me through here, just click on my avatar, then I will get back to you to help you out.

    luck~

Im getting the song lyrics "Spiral Out, Keep Going" on my arm. Helps me get through tough times. To me it means even when you spiralled out of control you can regain yourself and continue on.
