What about Prince William and Kate Middleton inviting "royal tyrants" to their wedding?

They've invited the royals from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Swaziland, Qatar and Kuwait (among others). I know it's because they're royals and they're supposed to invite other royals, but it seems a little hypocritical on William's part. The leaders of these countries have brutalized their own people and tried to stifle democracy. I thought he was all about human rights and having a conscience.

There will be over 2,000 guests in attendance to Prince William and Katherine's wedding, and they have not met most of them in their life. The Queen decides who is on the guest list, and keeping good relations with other countries is a very important thing to do. Prince William has very little control over the guest list, which is why after the wedding and the Queen's dinner party receptiopn, William and Kate will have their own reception at Buckingham Palace for their close friends and family. Hope i helped! :)

Interesting because I was wondering something similar and especially concerning Bahrain and all the terrible oppression happening there recently. Lili has a good point about no control over some invited guests. If your parents are paying for most of the wedding expenses, they have some say on who is invited. Its like, them inviting their business acquittance's, people you dislike or do not know and having to be all smiles and polite. Of course, William and Kate are grown adults and could put their foot down. Given they are on the world stage so to speak and people Globally are watching in these difficult times, and they're not some couple from some little back watered town.

Unfortunately, there are certain things over which William has no control. That is just the way it is when it comes to royal weddings.

There are plenty of people on that guest list whom William has never met in his life.

You have hit the nail on the head the royals all stick together like crap to a blanket, and to hell with the rest of them.

Since when did the royals have to have any conscience, the only one i seem to remember is Princess Dianna, certainly not Queen Elizabeth.
