I'm back! And I'm really curious to see how / if your favorites list have changed! So...?

Honestly, my list has more or less been destroyed and it's one confused mess. Ever since I gave birth to Nora, the reality of what names really means has made it difficult to jump back into the carefree, lovely world of names where I can just appreciate them for what they are. Now, I always have to consider a name on a real person and I always want to pair a name with a familial middle name. It kind of limits my choices and many of my combinations share the same middle name.

Chandler Noah: I've always thought of Chandler as an awkward-sounding name. Noah is nice, but quite overused at this point. I also don't really think this name flows all that well. It's not terrible and I totally get what you're trying to do with the name as to have a cool, unpredictable middle name ending in an 'a' to break it up, but I just don't think it works here.

Niall Taylor: I feel a name pronounced like the infamous Egyptian river is a little odd. I don't know why since there are a ton of trendy names right now that are place and nature-based so I guess you'd be hip to use this, but I'm just not feeling it. With Taylor, there's an overload of L's. I've also never been a fan of Taylor, and I know it's originally a male name, but I know so many girls with that name that I just think of it as effeminate when used (properly) on a male. So, if I feel that way and I know about names and origins, I can only imagine what a lot of people would think and say about it.

Riley Nelson: I've never liked Riley. Although I loathe it on a girl even more than on a boy, I have just never seen the appeal. It sounds very pet-like. As in, it'd be an adorable name for someone's pet dog. I feel like Nelson is an attempt to make Riley sound more proper and sophisticated but it'd almost too odd of a pairing for my taste.

Yvonne Maya: I'm not sure how I feel about Yvonne yet. I don't NOT like it. I think it's just a name that I know I personally could never pull off as could none of my kids - haha. I've always loved Maya. For some reason, this names feels choppy and forced to me even though I do technically hear a flow.

Leona May: It's honestly very pretty and I really don't have any huge problem with it, but I had to pick 3. My only negative is that is sounds rather country bumpkin to me.

Willa Karen: I actually like the idea of this name, but I kept naturally saying in my head "Willa Katherine"... I had to keep correcting myself to say "Willa Karen" and I just don't like it as much. I like Willa, but it's quite a strong and acquired taste and I feel it needs a soft and sophisticated name to balance it out and soften it up. I just really think Katherine would do that much better than Karen could. Coincidentally, I prefer Antonia Karen over Antonia Katherine.

Okay, time for mine... I don't think mine has really changed that much. I'm just going to list some spontaneous combos that I have paired up more "for fun" on my list. I'm not organized, I just note what I love and sometimes pair it with a middle, even though I basically just have a few middle names that I would use in reality.
