Is my work responsible for expenses? ?

I work in a family owned chain restaurant. when I first began working here, I was told I had to purchase slip resistant shoes but from a specific company. however, I was expected to front all the money. isn't my employer suppose to cover the cost?

No, they don't have to buy them for you. Many companies demand people supply their own tools, safety shoes and clothing. Sorry.

If a vehicle or window gets broken...you do no longer die. i'm Canadian...we've a countrywide and provincial well being care equipment in place. it may't be the appropriate (long wait cases on particular care) and we've regarded into 2 tier platforms...yet so an prolonged way? it may't be the appropriate answer, notwithstanding it incredibly is greater valuable than maximum international locations'. i assume it boils all the way down to this: if my vehicle breaks down, I could stumble on a diverse mode of transportation to artwork till i will arise with the money for to repair or purchase a clean vehicle. If a rock is going by using my window and that i became stupid adequate to have thrown it, coverage won't pay for it and that i will could, a minimum of, conceal it up with something till i will reglaze. If I even have typhoid fever and have no well being care...i will continually pass to artwork and proportion it till 2 hundred human beings in one construction come down with it and that they are able to incur their own well being care expenses...or die. isn't that what usually occurred with epidemics of typhoid fever, tuberculosis and influenza interior the U. S. for those devoid of well being care? in simple terms stored spreading it?

They shouldn't have made you come out of pocket. Most businesses do cover uniforms but sometimes they give you your uniform (which could include shoes) and subtract that from your first check.

Absolutely not. You pay for those.
