Animated movie set in space I cannot remember?

I remember being younger and being obsessed with this movie but I cannot remember the name.

it is set in space I think and it's about this guy who had this symbol on his hand, it wasn't a kid cartoon movie it was a mature animated movie with blood and aliens. I cannot stop thinking of the name so please help me out
