So the meaning of the name is Rose (In English)...
It stems from an Arabic name ... I don't know what it is..
It starts' with El and the following letters in the name are d_o_a_u_r and another a. (so x2 a's) My friend is trying to get me to guess her name, and it's bugging me so any help i would appreciate.

The name he has in mind should be "El Ouarda" -- "the Rose."

Look at the big main paragraph, second-to-last line. That should verify the above answer. This is a travel-guide-type book for Morocco (where Arabic is definitely spoken).
