Trouble understanding the running "lingo" on my training schedule?
I am training for my second half marathon. The first one I did I followed a training schedule that I had found online that just told me how many miles to run and on which days. That was over a year ago so I've been running for about a year and a half now and so trying to improve speed as opposed to just "finishing." But I don't really understand all the lingo on the training schedules I've found. Example: for next monday it reads
5mi
warm;3x800 in 4:27w/400 jogs; cool.
I'm at a loss as I have no clue what this means and even more how do I know I am doing it correctly when I'm outside running?

You should understand it.

Warm up by running easy for 5 miles, then do 800 runs in 4:27, that is 4 minutes 27 seconds, and do 3 of them, between each 800 jog one lap or 400 meters easy, after doing the 800s then cool down by running 8 to 10 minutes easy, then you should stretch.
I assume the 800 repeats are run at your target race pace, so you get used to running at that speed rather than just running easy all of the time.
You should be doing some speed work along with your distance training so your body is used to running at that speed during the race, I would also recommend you do repeat miles, we used to do 10x1 mile with 400 walk recovery.
