  • Trouble understanding the running "lingo" on my training schedule?

I am training for my second half marathon. The first one I did I followed a training schedule that I had found online that just told me how many miles to run and on which days. That was over a year ago so I've been running for about a year and a half now and so trying to improve speed as opposed to just "finishing." But I don't really understand all the lingo on the training schedules I've found. Example: for next monday it reads

    5mi

    warm;3x800 in 4:27w/400 jogs; cool.

I'm at a loss as I have no clue what this means and even more how do I know I am doing it correctly when I'm outside running?

  • Good beginning/intermediate running schedule?

My husband and I are planning on running a half marathon in October. It will be my second, his first. I have continued to run on a fairly regular basis (2-5 miles a couple times a week) he is just starting out. It is a little early to start any half marathon training schedules that I've seen, anyone know of a good schedule we could start to pre train for him and maintain for me? I suppose I should mention he is in decent shape so it doesn't need to be for super beginners.

  • Can my couch cushion covers go in the dryer?

My 16 month old son threw up on our couch :( The couch looks and feels like suede but is actually 100% polyester. I decided the best course of action would be to take the covers off and hand wash them, they are hanging dry now but is it possible to put them in the dryer to speed up the process?

  • Was it a mistake visiting my friend and her newborn in the hospital?

Because all day all I've been able to think about is how much I want another baby! ah!

  • Can we please stop throwing around the term "nazi" all the time?

I am seriously tired of the term "breastfeeding nazi!" No matter how passionate or even rude someone is about breastfeeding calling them a Nazi is by no means appropriate. If you expect to not be "judged" for your decisions then grow up and stop the name calling! Really!

  • Running a marathon while pregnant?

I am training for my first marathon which is in January. I ran my first half marathon back in march and have been pretty consistent with keeping up with my training schedule. It's very possible that I'm pregnant right now, though still a little early to test but just out of curiosity has anyone here ran a race while pregnant and do you think I could do it? I would be a little under 5 months by the time of the race if I am pregnant.

  • Why is my hair falling out?

In the past couple weeks I have noticed a lot of hair falling out, especially in the shower. I know it's normal to have a few here and there but it is a pretty big amount. I have heard this can happen post partum but I had my baby almost a year ago. I am not on any sort of weird medication. Any idea what else could cause this and should I be worried?

  • Possible UTI could this affect my period or HPT's?

Ok so my period is about 2 1/2 weeks late at this point (last one was May 29 or 30) and I've been having all kinds of weird symptoms, headaches, achyness in lower abdome, tightness in upper abdomen, urinating frequently. Took a few HPT's at a couple days late, 11 days late and 14 days late, all negative. I thought it might be a UTI could this cause a delayed period, or if I am pregnant could it affect the test?

  • 2 Weeks late, negative pregnancy test?

Ok so Here's the situation. I had my son august 2009 and breastfed him till early may 2010. I didn't have periods while bfing. I did get a regular period on May 29. It is now July 11, I have not had a second period. This would make me approximately 15 days late. Took a pregnancy test, came up negative. Not using hormonal bc, just condoms.....could it be I am not regular because of breastfeeding even though I stopped well over 2 months ago???
