Good beginning/intermediate running schedule?
My husband and I are planning on running a half marathon in October. It will be my second, his first. I have continued to run on a fairly regular basis (2-5 miles a couple times a week) he is just starting out. It is a little early to start any half marathon training schedules that I've seen, anyone know of a good schedule we could start to pre train for him and maintain for me? I suppose I should mention he is in decent shape so it doesn't need to be for super beginners.

I have had good sucess using these programs www.halhigdon.com Maybe he can start with a 15K program and then during the summer he can just continue to build his base and do speed work. Then start the half program, i am sure you'll both be ready and i bet you have a great race.

Hi Mommy of 2-
Congrats for setting your 1/2 Marathon goal. With proper training you will be ready to cross the finish line on race day.
My favorite half marathon training program is from RunPals.com:

It's a 14 week program, but you can pick up on any week depending on your experience.
It seems to do a great job at combining an increase in milage with cross training exercises. These are great for resting your legs, but staying in shape.
I'm excited for you to reach your goal! Best of luck!
