Running a marathon while pregnant?
I am training for my first marathon which is in January. I ran my first half marathon back in march and have been pretty consistent with keeping up with my training schedule. It's very possible that I'm pregnant right now, though still a little early to test but just out of curiosity has anyone here ran a race while pregnant and do you think I could do it? I would be a little under 5 months by the time of the race if I am pregnant.
Um I have plenty of common sense thanks. I was just wondering if anyone else had done it...?

I've run 4 marathons and have seen some very pregnant women out there running them right along with me.The only person that can tell you for sure is your doctor.Every woman is different and every pregnancy is different.Assuming you are in good health and you have a normal pregnancy your doctor will probably say it's okay.

It's probably a terrible idea. I know you don't want to ruin all the hard work you've already done to get yourself in shape, but it's most likely a very bad idea to run when your pregnant. I don't know the exact science behind it, and I'm sure someone will respond with the exacts, but I wouldn't suggest it.

I don't have any idea if it will do harm, but I don't think that's a good idea. Even elite runners like Mary Kietany, Yukiko Akaba and Kara Goucher disappeared from the distance running scene after they were few months pregnant

She is an absolute shame to motherhood and mothers of disabled young babies and has NO magnificent to air any opinion in besides approximately elevating a disabled newborn. confident, she would be waiting to experience sorrow over Harvey as any make certain will approximately their disabled newborn, for the remainder of their lives, as she has admitted, for as quickly as, authentic emotion. I shall in no way forgive that foul mouthed whore or for what she stated approximately Jade Goody. The belittling , vile SLAPPER. the toddler and Pete had a fortunate escape. confident, she treats her son like shite, Junior. team Andre.

Not a good idea, my aunt did this when she was 3 months pregnant and she got a miscarriage.

You're the only person that knows your body well enough if you feel that you can, DO IT! and obviously if you feel you can't don't do it. Talk with your local GP though just to verify if you do decide to run it.

Please go ask your doctor. I sure hope you wouldn't seriously take an answer from here and go by it. C'mon now. Use some common sense.
