Are fancy guppies aggressive with each other?

I wan to get four fancy guppies. Each a different color. Will they be aggressive? Also, will they eat ghost shrimp? here's my list:

4 fancy guppies

1 ghost shrimp

1 apple snail

in a 10 gallon.

Should I just get something else instead of the ghost shrimp? I know a lot of fish like to chew on ghost shrimp....

I have three fancy guppy boys. No, they are not aggressive fish. Every once in a while I'll see a chaser or a fin-nipper, and one of my guys sometimes cops an attitude with the larger mollies, but never full on aggression. Guppies are livebearers, so unless you want to breed them, stick with a single sex group. Guppies have lots of babies, and make sure the pet store you get them from separates them by gender.

With guppies, I think the ghost shrimp will be just fine.

    Aggressive Guppies

Get 1 male and 3 female guppies and things will be just fine.

Yes, male guppies are fin nippers, but aggressive? Not overly so.

If your shrimp are about the same size as your guppies they may occassionally show up with a missing leg. The next molt they will be fine. Just plant the tank HEAVY!

A good ratio to follow is 2 females to every 1 male fish.... Besides that I would say you are okay.. I've never seen guppies be more aggressive than an occasional nip here and there =)

No they shouldn't be aggressive. The males with chase the female for reproductive reasons but they are not hurting them. The tank mates should be fine just make sure you have plants or somewhere for them to hide. And just keep in mind they will multiply quickly and if the babies survive it will soon be too many fish for the 10 gallon tank. So one sex would be the best choice unless you have somewhere for the babies to go. The males usually have brighter coloration and larger fins.

They shouldn't be,but get all males. The males are prettier to look at. Plus, you don't want tons and tons of babies and females usually come home pregnant. No, they'll leave your shrimp alone. Guppies mainly stay near the top of the tank and should leave your shrimp be. If you're worried about your shrimp, triops and fairy shrimp are cool but they don't live very long and get eaten pretty quick when they first hatch unless you let them grow bigger in a bowl first.

They can be aggressive if there are no females and start to nip each others tail. I shouldn't think they'll eat ghost shrimp as they are more herbivore than carnivore.

It should be ok. The rule is i inch of fish per one gallon of water so don't exceed 10 1inch fish. They breed like crazy! you will need a baby fish tank that floats in your tank if you want them to live because the guppies eat there babies

Occasionally male guppies will fight each other for dominance but it isn't serious. If you keep males and females you need at least 3 females for each male but be prepared for tons of babies.
