Changing light bulb + it's stuck + will it cause fire? HELP.?
we were changing a light bulb in the basement. It was stuck. When trying to twist it out, the lights went out. We used the circuit breaker to turn the power on with water + fire extinguisher at our side to make sure that if there were sparks or fire we can deal with it.
No fire. Lights came on. But the light bulb is stuck in there. Will it cause a fire?
and the light bulb broke.
but the lightbulb is in there but broken bcz we heard a noise of it crack, just won't come out, nothing.

Turn the breaker back off- make sure there's no power to that socket. Get a raw potato & push it into the broken bulb & that should let you twist the broken bulb out. Hold the socket while you do it so it doesn't twist, too.
FYI: NEVER use water to put out an electrical fire!

Nope it wont. The material its made of either rusted, melted, or decayed into the light fixture so its stuck, but it will not cause a fire, besides, most light bulbs won't ever get hot enough to start a fire
