Busch Gardens, Williamsburg Question?
Although i live 45 minutes away (and basically always have), i remember as a kid so much their and so much to do (and so much walking).. I recently went after about 10-12 years now, and not sure if I changed or the park has changed?? My wife and me got their at 10am on the weekend.
heres the itenary for the day:
1. bought tickets
2. went to and rode Alpengiest (once)
3. went to and rode Dark Castle (once)
4. went to and rode Lock Ness (once)
5 went to and rode Charotte Fire (Once)
6. went to lunch (big line as the rides)
7 went to a few shops to buy junk(over$$)
8 went to the "europe Air" simulator (once)
9. left the park..
We was their from 10am-5pm, and the above is all we did. the lines were stupid, and prices made the movies look good.
was this really worth $65.00 a person plus $40.00 junk, and $45.00 in drink & food??
And only able to ride everything once in 7 hrs seem like a waste of day also...
BTW: this is all we could find to do their, where were all the smaller relaxing cooler adult rides at? And the other fun stuff i thought i rememeber being their from a kid??? now its just 4-5 big rides and lots of food and shops now.
***OOOOhhhh, and who else thinks the idea they have about NO-LIDS for ANY drink cups is just a ploy so you feel the need to toss your drinks away every time you do something requiring you to leave it somewhere, since you cant keep it covered and safe from flying koodies??? More money stragedies.!!
Any comments??

Ok, my first question is....what is Charotte Fire? There is NO RIDE in the park by that name, so what are you talking about with that?
Second, no, you did not do everything there is in the park to maximize your money. And by the way, for what you paid for your one day ticket, you could've paid the same price and purchased the Fun Card, which gets you into the park for free until September (NOT a season pass as you do not get discounts with the Fun Card).
Ok, so, here goes.....in 7 hours, you could've ridden the coasters (Loch Ness Monster, Griffon, Alpengeist, and Apollo's Chariot) more than once. If the lines were really long, I can understand not wanting to wait, but still, you can always ride them more than once.
Besides the coasters, Dark Kastle, and Europe in the Air, there is also the train, bumper cars, Sky Ride, Log Flume, Escape from Pompeii, Roman Rapids, and the flat rides located in Festa Italia.
There's also the various shows throughout the park. At Das Festhaus in Oktoberfest, you have 'This is Oktoberfest', in San Marco you have their newest show 'Mix it Up' (awesome show), in Ireland you have 'Celtic Fyre', and heading towards New France you have the show 'More Pet Shenanigans'.
There's also the Lorikeet Glen across from Pet Shenanigans where you can go into the aviary and feed the lorikeets, plus, there's a 'secret' garden behind their aviary that I consider a 'quiet spot'. It's an out of the way garden with water features and various plants that attract butterflies. There's also their various animals on display ranging from different birds to large mammals. You also have Jack Hanna's Wild Reserve where you can see the beautiful bald eagles and watch shows with wolves.
The no-lids policy for single use drink cups is there for a reason. The park prides itself on its conservation efforts. Lids can pose a health hazard to animals as their heads can get stuck in the lids and kill them. It's a good policy. I know it can be annoying to not be able to keep a drink 'safe', however, you could've purchased a refillable souvenir cup, that comes with a lid, and refills are only $.99 each, or free if you just get water.
For the food, you could've saved money by sharing a meal. The meals are decently priced, average $10 each, but the servings are usually pretty big for one person. Two people can share a meal and still be full. There's also the meal ticket or meal vouchers you could've purchased on their website that would've saved you money on the meals.
And no one forced you to spend money on the 'junk' souvenirs in the gift shops. Yes, the park has changed over the last few years, and yes, their quality of souvenirs has gone down a lot, no one is forced to buy what they sell.
One more thing, you could also have grabbed a park map, found all throughout the park, and found activities that you were looking for.
All in all, it sounds like you didn't use your time at the park to your fullest advantage by exploring every corner of the park for what is available for entertainment.

wow, i can do way more than that in 7 hours with a 4 year old in tow. and same question as the other person... what's charotte fire?
as for food, trappers smokehouse is the best deal and best food. big platter of food for 13 bucks that can easily feed 2. also, not many people know about annies cafe, it's on the map and has a huge sign but to many it looks closed because of a seperate door. They have HUGE platters of food there. One platter fed 2 adults and a child, and we still had leftovers.
