At an airport, what's the difference...?
When talking about airports, I often hear people say "terminal", "concourse", "pier" and "wing" as various buildings. Is there a specific difference between these terms? it all looks the same to me - and some seem to be okay in using them as the same. What now?

An airport can have many terminals which houses check-in counters, concourses, gates, baggage carousels, etc,. and terminals can have a "pier" design, normally a long terminal with gates on both sides, basically similar in design to a sea pier.
Wings can refer to the actual shape of a terminal, Hong Kong International Airport has such a shape, with two "wings' that protrude from the oppposite ends of the terminal in the shape of aircraft wings. The names of two of the premium lounges Cathay Pacific Airways at the Hong Kong Airport are actually named the "Wing" and the "Pier."

Sort of, but each airport can use the terms anyway they want.
If the airport has multiple buildings they are called terminals.
Concourse is typically a specific section of the terminal that has gates.
