Judge me all you want, but please answer my question…

I am a passport addict. I am not sure what this means, but the bottom line is, I love passports. When people are talking around me and I hear the word "passport," I immediately join the conversation and become very interested in the topic, whichever it is. Let's assume it's not a disease.

And I made up this "country," Amempreland, for which – surprise, surprise – I designed a whole passport, with 48 pages and everything. I would like to print it at an instaprint service or somethingm but I'm afraid they'll turn me down, fearing governmental punishment.

To my favor go:

1) Amempreland is not a real country;

2) I have a valid, real-country issued passport;

3) I have no criminal record;

4) I don't need it to look *exactly* like an actual passport – the cover is going to be paper and it won't have any security features.

Against me go:

1) The fact that I'm nuts;

2) Their fear that I will misuse the passport, however scruffy;

3) The fact that I am absolutely 100% nuts, totally crazy.

Help me out! Can I print a passport issued (well, not per se) by a country that's not real? Again, I DON'T PLAN ON USING IT!

My parents just came from their U.S. visa interview. I made sure to guide them through the entire process, so everything was at hand – until they came out of the embassy this morning. They came back with the DS-160 confirmation page, the 2″ × 2″ picture they submitted *and* the Citibank receipt for the $140 fee they paid.

That is really awkward, isn't it? Last time I was in touch with the visa application process, I submitted the (then) DS-156 form with a picture and the receipt issued by Citibank. But the embassy kept all of them, so all I went home with was the post service receipt for the $25 delivery charge (the one I paid to get the passport delivered at my home address).

What's that about? Do U.S. embassies now store everything electronically? Don't they keep the picture for their records?!

It's always intrigued me why 599 Lexington Avenue is 599 Lexington Avenue, rather than 600 Lexington Avenue or 598 Lexington Avenue. What criteria are observed when numbering buildings, creating so-called "street addresses"?

P.S.: Of course I don't actually wonder about 599 Lexington Avenue specifically. It's just an example.

Here's the deal:

There's this girl in school, of whom I'm very fond (i.e., I like her), and I've recently started talking to her. I asked her out, she said yes, and I got her number and everything. So far, no abnormality, right?

Well... There is something. I would like to find a way to tell her I do intend to engage in a long-term relationship with her. And I believe I should make it pretty clear, because she may think otherwise, and everything WILL be screwed up, say, after a first kiss.

I know you'll tell me to either give up, because she won't want to start dating seriously in high school; or to forget anything like that, because I shouldn't want to be in a serious relationship so early in my life. But I do want to! What do I do about her?

I always see these nice leather passport covers on eBay, some of which with coat of arms in front. Supposing I bought one with the British coat of arms in front, could I use it with my American passport?

A principal questão é que todos os eleitores devem estar em situação regular até seis meses antes da votação. Assim, é simplesmente impossível esperar até agosto, completar os 16 anos e depois solicitar o título. Eu poderia solicitá-lo antes (por exemplo, em dezembro ou janeiro), sob a prerrogativa de utilizá-lo apenas após já ter completado 16 anos - neste caso, nas eleições do ano que vem (eleições municipais)?

I've just had it with IE 9. It stinks.

A couple of days ago, I started downloading a dictionary, and the installation was kinda halfway through, when AVG detected a "threat". I immediately aborted the download. Ever since then, no more IE! It doesn't even bother opening; everytime I click the icon (wherever it is), an error message ("IE was shut down" etc.) shows up and I have to use another browser.

HELP ANYONE?

I've been thinking of asking users of Yahoo! Answers from around the world to mail me their expired/canceled passports so that I can start a collection of passports from around the world. I still haven't started, because it occured to me that postal authorities using x-ray may cause me a great deal of trouble... What do you think?

P.S.: Yes, I am asking you already, should you be willing to cooperate :P

I am a little worried about making mistakes when filling out forms I-94 (arrival record) and CBP 6059B (customs declaration) for the U.S. Immigration. Are airlines allowed to give away more than one form per passenger?

Also, in case the airline is unable to give me a spare form, will I find them at the airport (e.g., in line for passport control)?

A couple of friends of mine in Brazil have complained about the unendurable long time it has been taking for some mail they are expecting from America to arrive. According to one of them, who is waiting for an American Airlines' AAdvantage card, the 6-week time they ask you to wait has been exceeded to its double, and counting.

Does anyone have news on possible disruption in service between the United States and Brazil? What could have possibly gone wrong?

Look, I'd like to know whether Miles & More program's card are issued with multiple airline logos.

Of course the primary airline to which M&M serves is Lufthansa, but it is also the FFP of Adria Airways, Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Luxair and Swiss International Air Lines.

So, in case any of you have a M&M card with a logo other than Lufthansa's, let me know, okay? Thanks ;D

(Also, if you could tell me how to get my card with a specific logo, I'd appreciate.)

I'd like to find a neat monospaced ("fixed with") font for me to use. It doesn't matter whether it's TrueType or not; as long as it is a FW font, I'm happy.

By the way, if you could find one that can be used on thermal printers, I'd appreciate.

Also, suggestions on boarding pass (thermal transfer print) fonts could REAAAALLY help. Thank you.

When talking about airports, I often hear people say "terminal", "concourse", "pier" and "wing" as various buildings. Is there a specific difference between these terms? it all looks the same to me - and some seem to be okay in using them as the same. What now?

I signed up for an Apple (iTunes/App Store) account last November, and I introduced a credit card number when enrolling. I immediately saw a transaction on the statement - they charged me US$ 1.

Now, nearly a month later, I was credited the US$ 1 all over again. Is that common - do they charge you as a "test" and then return your money?

I have a Diners Club card, and it was not until today I noticed two letters right in front of the card. Since there's a map in the background of the card, I could say "the letters are located in Northern Australia".

Does anyone know what do the letters represent? I've found no relationship between them and purchases with the card, nor has it ever been requested.

I was reading about their Round-the-World fare, and I started to wonder: how can they sell an almost 40,000-mile long ticket, with up to 16 flights, for about US$ 5,000.00? I mean, it's the same as a full fare New York - Zürich or something like that, isn't it?

Do you guys have any idea on how can Star Alliance and its member airlines afford this... total madness?

I would like to buy a thermal printer for non-merchant use. I do not own a store/retailer/restaurant-whatsoever.

I admit to be a pure geek, and thermal printers are so cool, but I'm afraid if I bought one I wouldn't be able to use it. Do you think I could use it without a specific software, i.e., could I print a Notepad or Word document using a TP?

I'm looking for the font airlines use on the data fields of their boarding passes. You know, to write the passengers' names, flight no., etc.
