Is it too late for me to plant onions in my garden?

I've been reading online that you should plant the onions between February and April. I was going to plant my carrot, basil, tomatoes, and peppers in about a week but I really want to grow onions. Can I still plant them?

I live in northwest Indiana, close to Chicago.

Onions or sets planted now will do just fine in your area. That "plant in February" advice is for climes farther south than Chicago.
