When on Australian P Plates traveling interstate, what state laws do you follow?
I am a Victorian on my P1's which means that I can only have one passenger between the age of 16 and 21 at all times but can abide by the speed limit.
However I have been told that when you travel interstate you have to follow the laws of the state which you are in.
So what I'm asking is, when I travel to NSW am I allowed to have unlimited passengers before 11pm and only travel up to 90km per hour?
Or do I have to obey my own rules on top of the NSW rules meaning only one passenger still and I can only travel 90km?
Someone please help! I don't want to be fined for not knowing and there is no clear explaination on this subject from any government website.
Cheers

You follow the rules of the state your licence is issued in.
For example, as an ACT P-plater on the drive to Sydney, I could do 100km/h on the highway, and have passengers in my car.
Recently on a drive home from Sydney I saw a guy nearly wipe-out a NSW P-plater because of the 80km/h restriction...Hume Highway is 110km/h...huge difference in speed, very dangerous.
My honest suggestion to you would be to contact NSW Police and ask THEM.
