Why am I getting so few credits in Halo: Reach?

When I started, I got 100+ credits even though I didn't do much. Today, I didn't die and I got headshots and everything, but I only got 50 credits. I read it could get capped from playing Xbox Live, but I only have Silver. What am I doing wrong?

If you are playing against aliens in campaign you don't get as much credits. Since you have silver (the free xbox live) you can not play online. Online playing gets you more credits. When you are in custom games you barely get credits. In firefight you probably get the most credits.

cause when you were a lower ranked player something like private you the credit stuff that you need to rank up is kinda low and you rank up fast example:when you are a private grade 1 you need 200 credits to rank up to private grade 2

but when you get to a higher rank you need more credits to rank up for example you are a LT colonel grade 3 you need 500000 credits to rank up to commander

getting credits and ranking up is easier when you have gold and playing on matchmaking and doing challenges and stuff

and what the guy above me said

Well, your playing offline and playing against cpu soooo the cpu is easier therefore you get less credits.
