Music lyric appreciation?

It's nice to know someone else values the lyrics in music as I do. I listened to that song, "Apology," and I have a few thoughts on it. I can see the poetry of the words. It's an expertly written song. The tune was also great, and I enjoyed the pace of the drums. However, if I was not looking at the lyrics, I would not have understood it because of the screamo. I think he should have toned it down slightly. Then again, some of Evergreen Terrace's songs are the same, only deeper, but I still enjoy them. I guess I just didn't like the fact that it was high-pitched. Other than that, I thought it was a pretty good song.

As for other music such as pop, country, and rap, I find your opinion a little biased. I don't blame you though. You have a genre that you prefer, and the stuff on the radio just doesn't give music much justice. As for rap, it can be seriously hard to find an appropriate song, but it's possible. A lot of stuff by BoB is good. Hollywood Undead is good just as long as you weed out the crap they make. Plus, they're a rap rock group, so you might like that. Other than that, I go blank. Can you maybe list some bands so I can see a little more of what you mean? And is does Breaking Benjamen go under the category?

(Oh, and for the record, I do like screamo. Just not the screamo from "Apology." No offence.)

I hate screaming music. I like music where people actually SING. No offence, but I don't consider screamo music, except for the music in the background. On the contrary though, I usually happen to think that the lyrics are very good and meaningful (usually). And I always used to think it was a shame that they were shreeked instead of sung with emotion. So... I actually do like the lyrics most times. It's just the actual sound I can't stand. Sorry if I sound like a person who's stereotyping, but I really don't listen to this type of music.

I actually though you were being kind of stereotypical with the "like pop, country, and some alternative, because it's all just stated clearly and it all sounds like they're saying the same exact stuff." While I agree with you about rap and pop (at least the newer stuff), there are songs written pretty much about anything, so it's not all the same stuff, and I think pretty much any song has to contain at least one metaphor. It's rare to find a completely straight-forward song. What it all comes down to I think is that everyone listens to different types of music. I consider myself pretty ecelctic; My Ipod can go from the GooGoo Dolls, to Billy Joel, to Lady Gaga, Def Leppard, Diana Ross, Carrie Underword, the Killers, Journey, shamfully I admit, even Miley Cyrus. But I think if someone doesn't listen to a genre of music, they kinda have no choice but to stereotype/generalize it. :)

For me, if the lyrics of a track are well, this will likely of direction upload to my leisure of the track. If they're unhealthy, (poorly written, immature, and so on...), then I will regularly no longer revel in that track. Very usually I am no longer equipped to fully grasp the lyrics of songs, where case my leisure might be headquartered completely upon the tune itself. On the complete, I do not brain if a track has lyrics that I do not always consider, (until it is like a neo-nazi band or whatever), furnished the lyrics are good written. For example, one in every of my favourite songs is Anthem through Rush, that is just about a track espousing the beliefs of libertarianism, nevertheless I am kind of a socialist. To sum up, sure lyrics play a relevant position in my appreciation of tune, whether or not they have an impact on it negatively or undoubtedly. And in your moment query, no.

I have a problem with Screamo since it is very confused with the metal i listen to, people just think anything with screaming is screamo so, im sorry, i have huge hate for this freaking genre
