Is it weird for a non married couple to sing a song that would be like a bride singing to the groom song?

I have a beautiful song I want a friend to sing at my wedding during the unity candle part. I also want another friend to do the male solo part. My groom to be thinks it might be strange because the two people are not married that are singing it ?? Any suggestions or thoughts on this subject. I told him that this song is a dedication to us not about the couple singing it.

I don't think it's weird at all. It's 2 people singing...they're not devoting themselves to each other. Who cares if they're not married? They won't most likely, none of the guests will. Nobody will be focused on them as people and their relationship status...they'll be focused on the song they're singing and the two of your doing your unity candle.

    He's way over thinking this.
