NHL FANS...and Flyers fans....?
To NHL fans in general - Would you like to have Jeff Carter (Career: 461 GP, 181 G, 162 A, 343 P, +51....$5mil) or Mike Richards (Career: 453 GP, 133 G, 216 A, 349 P, +39....$5.75mil) on your team for the current price the Flyers pay? Do you think it's a bargain? Or a ripoff?
Flyers fans, what reason do you have for wanting to strip away Mike Richards' "C" so fast?
Sorry I should have clarified, I'm saying for the price they are at now, would you take either of them on your team, and do you think it is a good deal? Because quite frankly I never understand the reasoning in this town behind wanting them gone.

I would always take Richards over Carter
They want the "C" taken away because he played very lasily against boston, Pronger should have been named Captain as soon as the Flyers got him

mike richards is a better two way player, when he is on a line with another skilled 2 way forward like gagne last season, he is an absolute beast. thats the reason i see why holmgrem traded for versteeg: to get that skilled two way linemate richards was missing. however, that as you have seen backfired and versteeg has not been a good fit in philadelphia.
jeff carter is a very skilled and dangerous but a terribly streaky scorer. he can be so dangerous at times and at other times he looks lost. once he strats scoring though hes scary.
imo i would rather have richards, while hes more expensive he brings more to a team than carter does.
well i was COMPLETELY PISSED at how the flyers have played the last 25% of the season and the playoffs with the exception of a few games in the buffalo series. when they were winning, it seemed like the chemistry was there and the players had leadership . when they started losing, it looked as if the whole team did not know what to do.imo this showed lack of leadership in that locker room.
leadership is tested when you start losing not when you start winning. and while richards did try to lead by example in game 4 of the boston series, the team kept playing trashy. it seems to me as if richards doesnt have "it" to be a captain.

As a fan of a Western Conference team I am not really qualified to answer this.
I really like Mike Richards, though.

i personally would rather have richards. i love both players but richards can bring leadership. this years was a bad example but people quickly forget last years playoffs when he was taking over game 5 against montreal

I think you need to change your name and avatar, it just reminds everyone of the massacre that just took place. All that's left is bear tracks in the orange and black blood!
