The Bible says you should kill someone if you see them working on Sunday?

This is what it says in the Bible. If you take it literally.. it says you should kill anyone you find working on a Sunday.

Why do people follow this crazy book that was obviously written by crazy people?

The Bible wasn't written by crazy people; it is the most sacred book of enlightenment; It is the inspired word of God. People have interpreted it all kinds of ways. Crazy people can interpret anything crazily. Your one of them. One thing that you didn't do was provide the quote; if it was there, I'm sure that I can explain it and yes the seventh day of the week is Saturday. The Catholic Church changed the primary day for this worship to Sunday because Sunday is the day that Christ rose from the dead; that's Easter. The Catholic Church still accepts worship on Saturday for the sabbath. Other churches that came later believe that Sunday is the Sabbath for the reason that Catholics have worshiped on that day for hundreds of years.

If you take the Bible literally, nowhere does it say you should kill anyone you find working on a Sunday.

Crazy people are always claiming the Bible says what it does not say.

Sure, forget all the circumstances, like that was written only to Israel, who had a theocratic government, and who had first hand evidence of God. I am assuming that in your zeal to reveal this "crazy book" you really mean Saturday, the Sabbath.

When you have a start up company, how much tolerance can you have for breaking the major rules? Could not repeated violations eventually endanger the existence of the entire enterprise?

    Yeah, not sunday.

    saturday.

    or wednesday, according to some.

but traditionally, sabbath is friday sundown to saturday sundown.

    sunday is just church day.

cant go to church on saturday either, unless its very close to your house.

the bible also says " Sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath."

Its in your own best interest to take a day off once in a while.

Actually it says "the Sabbath", which is saturday, the Jewish day of worship. And no, it does not say I should do this. It simply says that the Mosaic Law commanded Old Testament Jews to do so.

What about assassins working on Sundays?

Guess which one I'll believe: the Bible, or some simple-minded twig who calls himself "Captain Obvious".

  • 1 decade ago

Hey "captain obvious", do you know any Christians that take those kind of passages literally? I think the obvious answer is you don't, do you "captain obvious", so why are you asking questions like this.

It says that in the New Testament? Jesus came and changed many things the people were practicing.
