When was the first veto by US against UN Resolution about Israel and who was the President? How many vetoes US has exercised in UN and how many of them were about Israel or Palestine?

Since 1973, the US has used the veto power 51 times, where the US was the only country in the Security council to vote against these resolutions. They are as follows:

39 times in defense of Israel

1 time in defense of Apartheid South Africa (1981)

    5 times against Nicaragua (1980's)

6 times to block Vietnam entry to the UN (1970's)

All US vetoes since 1988 have been in defense of Israel. The US used the veto another 22 times before 1988, where the veto power was used by other UN Security Council permanent members at the same time, all of which were in defense of the apartheid regimes in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and South Africa.

The first time the US used the veto power was jointly with the UK on 17th March 1970 to block a resolution critical of Rhodesia.

The first time the US used the veto power alone against all other members of the UN Security Council was on 10th September 1972 to block a resolution critical of Israel. US president then was Richard Nixon.
