22 weeks pregnant, moving and ultrasound?
We had our first ultrasound at 10 1/2 wks. We were going to have our 2nd ultrasound at 26 weeks. I am moving out of state and asked my current doctor about the ultrasound. He said it doesn't matter which doctor does the 2nd ultrasound, but he would be happy to do it at our next appointment at 22 weeks. The baby is our first child, I'm new to this. I was thinking of having my current doctor do the 2nd ultrasound as he has seen the 1st one and can see the differences. What do you suggest?

You should have the ultrasound @ 22 weeks. Most people think that the second trimester ultrasound performed routinely between 20-24 weeks, is just to detect gender. But they also do a very important anatomy scan that checks the baby's heart, brain, kidneys and limbs. This is also the time they check for "soft markers" that indicate Down's syndrome and other defects.

As long as everything is fine it should matter who does your next ultra sound. If it will give you peace of mind then go ahead and have your first one do it. For me we are moving when I'm 25 weeks, just get all of your medical records so you can give it to your new one.

it really doesnt matter who does it but if you would be more comfortable your curent doctor doing it then do it that way.
