When did you start having sex again after labor ?
I had my baby boy almost 6 weeks ago...it will be six weeks on Saturday (two days from now)
From what I can tell all of my stitches are out now , I've continued to check on them with a hand held mirror for the past few weeks.
They feel pretty good as far as being healed however I am SO scared to start having sex again! The healing process was grueling and the thought of tearing again terrifies me!
My husband has been so great about waiting and not putting any rush on when we can be intimate again, however I myself am starting to miss it lol.
I was just wondering when you started having sex again? What was it like? painful or not to bad? Any recommendations on how to go about it?
Also , I had a peri-urethral tear, so I tore upwards from my vagina all the way up to my urethra, I had about 6-7 stitches altogether.
I don't know if that makes a difference rather than having a perineum tear ?

Honestly i only wait a week after having my daughter because i had only got one stitch,
it was a little painful but my hormones were raging, anyways
When you do decide your ready just take it a little slow and make it to whatever your comfort level is.

I had my son 5 years ago. I waited until I had my 6 wk check up. I felt like my stiches were healed & there was no more pain in that area. Im glad I waited because on my 6 wk check up I still have some soft tissue & had to wait 10 more days. So its always good to wait it out. My grandma always said that if u didnt wait u'd never be the same lol...I would start exercising those muscles...by squeezing in & releasing. My mom said it helps to get ur muscles tight again. When u 1st have sex again make sure u use some method of birth control because ur body is really fertile at this time & still thinks ur pregnant so its very easy to get prego again. My cousin just had her 2nd baby 2 weeks ago & her other son & the new baby are 10 1/2 months apart. So be careful. & when that time comes...if ur scared of pain try some k.y jelly & take the 1st time slowly to see what happens & how it feels. Good luck!

We started having sex again at 8 weeks PP. I only had a very small perineal tear that didn't even need any stitches, so I don't know how that would differ from yours in terms of pain during sex. I was worried it would hurt as well but it didn't at all. I hope it's the same for you.

If you feel ready again, you could certainly try. Six weeks is a good amount of time to heal, just take it slow.
We tried at six weeks, and decided against it until eight weeks post partum. It wasn't bad at all the second time, but the first time we tried it really stung. Sorry if TMI, but it might also depend on how big your husband is. If he has a lot of girth, then it might be a little more painful.
It's a case to case thing, depending on how much you tore, how your healing went, the size of your husband, etc. Only you can really know if you're ready.

I think we waited until around 9 weeks. But I was still bleeding on and off. It wasn't bad though... But then again I did not have any tears or stitches!! I say just take it very slow, maybe use some lubricant.

The answer is when you are ready. They say to wait 4-6 weeks after birth or until you stop bleeding. I had sex 2 weeks after the birth with all three of my kids but I didn't have stitches.

You need to wait until after your 6 week check-up and the doctor gives you the okay. I waited until then myself because I wanted to make sure all my stitches were out & to be sure I wouldn't give myself a infection or anything. The first time I had sex it hurt a little but after awhile things were back to normal.

i had one stitch after pushing out a 8lb 7 oz baby. we tried sex again 4 weeks after, and omg was i scared. it did hurt and took forver to try to get it in. but we used lots of lube and started with me on top so i could control everything. there was this wierd sharp pain like at the opening, but after the first 2 mins i was okay, but sore afterwards. now 9 weeks later, it still hurts trying to get it in, and i still have to be on top to even get it to go in...

I was in a lot of pain also!
My baby is 9 weeks and I still havent had sex.
Youre suppose to wait until you get a pap smear done.
Which is at six weeks.
